During the survey on the vertebrate animal diversity in Libo of the World Natural Heritage-South China Karst from July 2010 to August 2012, five specimens of snakes of the Colubridae were captured at Banzhai, Yaoshan, Wengang and Dongtang in Libo County, Guizhou Province. These specimens all were identified as Elaphe moellendorffi, which is the first record of Colubridae in Guizhou Province.
