    Abstract:

    The amphibians and reptiles resources in Houhe National Nature Reserve were surveyed in July 2004,July to August 2006,and September 2007. Total of 73 species were recorded by either direct observation and collection or by interviewing local people.Among these them,29 are amphibians belonging to 9 families and 2 orders;and 44 are reptiles belonging to 9 families and 2 orders.The Oriental species dominate apparently the fauna.The species in abundance are Bufo g.gargarizans,Odorrana margaretae,Fejervarya multistriata,Paa boulengeri,Amolops chunganensis,Elaphe carinata,Elaphe taeniura,Zaocys dhumnades and Trimeresurus stejnegeri.Suggestions on the conservation of amphibians and reptiles are proposed based on the result of field survey.
