    Abstract:

    Two specimens of bat,one male and one female,were identified as Rhinolophus rex(Chiroptera,Rhinolophidae)by comparing with specimens of R.paradoxolophus and R.marshalli.The specimens were collected in Tangle Cave(28°18’N,109°39’E,319 m altitude),Zhaiyang Town,and Sifang Cave(28°19’N,109°35’E,500 m altitude),Aizhai Town,Jishou City,Hunan Province on 7 July,2007 and 1 January,2008,respectively.In this paper,we presented the measurement of morphology and skull,and referred briefly to its distribution and protective status in this paper.It was the first record for this species in Hunan Province.The specimens are kept in the zoological collections of Jishou University.
