    Abstract:

On November 16 and 18, 2019 respectively, a single bird of the Yellow-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier) was found at the Xishuangbanna Tropic Botanic Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Mengla of Yunnan Province. It might be the first record of the Yellow-vented Bulbul in China. The bird was observed to be mixed in a flock of the Red-whiskered Bulbul (P. jocosus) and feeding on the fruits of Waringin (Ficus benjamina).
