    Abstract:

    Most parthenogenetic species of vertebrates are of hybrid origin. In this paper, we reviewed the progress of the hybrid origin of parthenogenesis in vertebrates from variousaspects including morphological characteristics, isozyme analysis, nucleic acid molecular markers and chromosome painting. We also analyzed the cytological mechanism of endomitosis pattern of parthenogenetic hybrid origin.
