    Abstract:

Multi-slice Computed Tomography (MSCT) was used to scan snakes, in order to show its anatomical structure and explore the possible application of MSCT in protective studies of Trimeresurus mangshanensis. CT scans were performed on 3 different individuals. After scanning, the 2D and 3D images of the snake were reconstructed respectively, and their body details such as body surface, bones and internal organs were displayed. We show that MSCT can be used for evaluating snake anatomy and habitat condition, as well as for its disease diagnosis, providing a new approach for studies on snake and other animals.
