    Abstract:

    Abstract: The protobothrops cornutus is a kind of snakes in Xianju County,Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, belonging to the original Protobothrops, the Viperidae. This paper is the the new record on it of genus, species distribution in Zhejiang Province, East China and also of the fourth known distribution point in China now.It briefly describes its classification history, morphological specificities and living environment characteristics. Its ecological habits are preliminary analyzed and the type specimens are deposited in the collection of Zhejiang Forest Resources Monitoring Center
