Abstract:

Satellite tracking showed that one female Scaly-sided Merganser Mergus squamatus breeding at Dailing of Heilongjiang Province wintered in Yuanling County of Hunan Province in 2011. In January 2014, 26 Scaly-sided Mergansers were discovered in Yuangjiang River catchment in Yuanling County, indicating it is an important wintering ground for this species.
