During a fieldwork in south Shanxi for the biodiversity survey project supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, We observed the Sooty Tit Aegithalos fuliginosus at the two localities. Referred to literatures, we confirm this is the new record of the Sooty Tit distribution in Shanxi province. We imply that the new record may be related to the northward distribution range expansion in many species in recent decades due to the global warming.
